The brief was to create a contemporary rural garden design in Hertfordshire that had its roots in the past. Panoramic views from the house would be dynamic and ever changing and also provide a welcoming entrance to the property. The landscape design accomplishes this view by using the same dimensions as the new kitchen extension, this layout means a panoramic vista is accomplished and is naturally framed with its symmetry. Balau decking leads you out from the bi fold doors and immediately a full length reflection pool greets you.
The paving is a mix of York stone and local red brick with a large chunky oak pergola that leads you past the matrix of planting towards the front door. The planting is naturalistic and formed mainly off tall perennials and grasses, mixed with herbs of lavender, rosemary, fennel and sage.
